At the heart of the Serra de Aires and Candeeiros Natural Park, in the typical village of Alvados, visitors meet the Casa dos Matos. This country refuge invites guests or to depart in a surprising search of the surrounding natural beauties.
Casa dos Matos results from the rebuilding of small country house, keeping all architectonic characteristics of the ancient building, such as the treshing-floor, the water tank and the traditional oven. The 8 bedrooms that surround the pool, overlooking the mountains, were designed to allow you to enjoy a comfortable stay. A lawn, a porch and a large living room, with fireplace, complete the structure of Casa dos Matos.
Besides its infrastructures, Casa dos Matos offers its guests a wide range of leisure activities. From biking, to walking, even paragliding baptisms are offered, as well as donkey and/ or horse and balloon rides, relaxing massages, shiatsu, climbing or speleology are some of the ingredients available for an unforgettable holiday experience.
Surprises start first thing in the morning with a wonderful breakfast with fresh chicken eggs, homemade bread in a traditional oven, farm milk and homemade jams. At Casa dos Matos light meals are served upon request at any time of the day. Here you can also dine and enjoy flavors and smells that are worth discovering. – Hill walking 3 h with coffee service at the hilltop: 7 euros per person, minimum 4 persons.
– Traditional cart with a donkey: 5 euros per person, minimum 2 persons
– Starter flight paragliding: 50 euros per person, flight of approximately 20 minutes.
– Bicycle: free
– Yoga: 10 euros per person, minimum 6 persons.

| How to Get There |
From Lisbon: Take the A1 towards north and leave it at Exit No. 7, at Km 94, towards “Torres Novas”. After the toll, follow straight away to “Alcanena” and keep driving towards “Minde”. 7Km before reaching “Minde”, follow the signs to “Mira de Aire”. Follow the N243 for about 5 Km and then take the N243 towards “Porto de Mós”. Approximately 4 Km after “Mira de Aire” turn left towards “Alvados” and once here just follow the signs to “Casa dos Matos”.From Porto: Follow the motorway A1 in directio to “Lisboa” and leave the the motorway in the exit of “Fatima”. After the toll follow the signs “Rotunda Sul”. OOnn the roundabout follow the direction to “Minde” and then follow the signs to “Mira de Aire”. Follow the N243 for about 5 Km and then take the N243 towards “Porto de Mós”. Approximately 4 Km after “Mira de Aire” turn left towards “Alvados” and once here just follow the signs to “Casa dos Matos”.GPS coordinates:
