Approached by a shaded driveway, the house is noted for the fine collection of neo-classical glazed tiles.
Francisco Teixeira de Queiroz, a Portuguese writer from the 19th century, ordered the construction of this house. Well-known personalities from Portuguese culture and from politics are attached to tits history After a period of decline, Quinta de Cortinhas belongs now to Mário Caspar Leite de Barros Pinto and its wife Maria da Graça Teixeira de Queiroz, granddaughter of its former founder.
