The Casa Santos Murteira is a Manor House from the 18th century. Located in the historic town of Alcáçovas, near Évora, a UNESCO world heritage site, was originally built to be a diligence station. It was purchase by Santos Murteira family to be there home. In 19th century they build the second floor for the family accommodation and several infra-structures around the main house to support the farming activities. In 1994 Mrs. Dona Maria da Encarnação Santos Murteira Fernandes open her Family Home to ”Turismo de Habitação” to receive guests and to preserve the great Manor House heritage. This charming Alentejo Manor House is decorated with antiques and beautiful furniture, paintings and gorgeous tapestries.
The Casa Santos Murteira has a very harmonious association between the original furnishings and the modern comfort, inviting to discover memories and emotions through a unique experience of living.
The vaults and arches of the main house grounds extending to a delightful pool, feed by an old water mill, and a luxuriant lemon orchard garden. There are a big terrace surrounded by a magnificent biodiversity, who invites to relax and to enjoy the peacefully place.

From Lisbon: Follow the A2 in directions to “Sul / Évora / Algarve”. Continue for around 50 km until you find the A2 in direction to Évora / Espanha. Follow the A6 for 40 km and leave on the exit n.º 3 in direction to “Montemor-o-Novo”. In Montemor-o-Novo follow the signs to “Alcáçovas” trough the road R2. Continue for 30km and you will arrive to “Alcáçovas”. The house is located on the n.º 70 of the street “Rua de São Pedro”, on the center of the town of Alcáçovas.GPS coordinates:
