The Casa Grande de Juncais is a manor house built in the 16th century. With an imposing facade of large proportions and a chapel evocation of Our Lady of Perpetual Help , this sixteenth-century manor, belongs to the same family since its foundation. In the main entrance a big stone code of arms shows the importance of this noble Family Veloso. Classified as property of public interest since 1997, was the residence of Dona Maria do Patrocínio Barata Veloso, great-grandmother of the current owner who restored and opened the Manor house ‘doors to receive guests.
Located in Juncais, near Serra da Estrela and the course of the river Mondego, this great house provides guests easy access to river beaches, dams and mills in places of great beauty. Also found nearby archaeological and historical sites of interest, such as Antas tenement, the forts of St. Miguel Fraga da Pena and the Sidewalks of Roman and Celorico, among others.
